Maw Taken DOWN!!!
I recently kicked Maw the Mountain Hearts --- in Dreadnaughts, here are some pics.
I am trying to post the pics, but this weird technical problem keeps coming up. I will post the pics as soon as I can. I also killed this weird Tundra Giant Warrior Boss. I have his pic too.
Anyways, I will try to post the pics as soon as I can, in the meantime, good luck to all.#
Removed comment about asking for money for build, to prevent further flaming. Plus you haven't posted any pictures at all. But everyone else has so its fine.
On the note asking for money for a Build is pretty foolish and won't win you a lot of friends ingame - RTS

Congrats, that boss is in my opinion the biggest pain to capture, simply because it's right in the middle of nowhere. But I had a fun time getting to him. Here's a shot of my Warrior standing off against him:
Exploring to hard-to-reach areas like this adds a ton of fun to the game, I really hope A-Net puts more incentive on simply exploring in Factions!

Yeah, I love the feeling you get when you have accomplished something many players think is impossible. Plus, I got a gold shortbow from Maw, so that may be part of it .

Congratulations, I know how hard this guy can be...and with that, if you would allow me to go into my own experience with him...
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far...no wait, that's not right. *ahem*
Anyway, I was determined to cap every single skill on my necro, and didn't expect this one to be so daunting...boy did that change. One other necro and I picked up a pug in Rankor and set out for Dreadnaught's Drifts. Near the end of Snake Dance, however, mobs of trolls set upon us. Frustrated, the rest of the group ditched us. So through sheer determination, that other necro and I made it to Dreadnaught's. Once we got there we already had considerable DP (probably 60% already) and couldn't really take down anything, so the strategy basically consisted of pulling enemies to the spawn point and wearing them down. Then we got to the wurm...Immediately it pops out and kills the other necro in short order. So I, a relatively inexperienced N/Mo, was left to solo this thing. Fun. About 5 or 10 minutes later though, the thing finally died. Man, did I love blood magic after that. Plus, not much beats that feeling of accomplishment. I resed the necro, we both capped FoC, and got the heck out of there.
Sorry to take attention of the thread away from you, I just wanted to share my story.

np, yeah, I just wanted to solo him for fun. I think I can fit my whole body in his maw, . But the best thing was, he was near a Shiverpeak Chest, and he dropped a key, so I opened the chest and got a req 10 gold shortbow. The fight was worth it!!! It was also fun because I had to solo everything from Camp Rankor to Dreadnaughts. I died once, but res point saved my ---. Anyway, I got to kill two other bosses, one a warrior, and another mesmer. One a Tundra Giant, one a griffin. It was enjoyable. And hey, if anyone needs any help with ANYTHING just give me a holler.

He is easy, unless you dont get ------ with suffering + FoC combo and the groups of raving Tundra Giants . Good luck with your cap, I know it is especially hard for necros to do it from Rankor with PUGs. Hope you get it soon.

It's actually not that bad to get. I can take him down solo with my warrior - if anyone needs a hand getting it send me a message (IGN=Nicte Sepulcral) and I'll kill him for you.

Doing things like this make GW fun, traveling across a huge area, for a big boss, for aa hard cap make it fun.

Nice. I like to riposte him to death. You can *almost* time it so he never hits you.

Does Maw get the reward for Biggest Monster Ever?
What build/situation uses FoC anyways? For an elite to be that far outta the way and difficult to reach, it has to be devastating somewhere in the game.

FoC spikes in PvP. They require a lot of teamwork to get right though...

True, FoC spike is very powerful with the right team. I have taken down my fair share of Iway teams (prenerf) with that build. I got my level 10 necro up to Maw and took forever killing him with henchies. Then I discovered a way to solo up to him with my warrior. I suggest not farming there anymore unless u really want frozen shells. Go up there for fun.

Imo, Maw should be buffed to Rotwing proportions... he's the heart of the mountain ffs! One of the most impressive bosses, without power to match
